International Dimensions of Russian Oil and Gas

Introduction

BIEE has organised an informal half day seminar to focus on  Russian oil and gas, as seen from the perspective of the Russian oil and gas industry itself.  Participants will  be able  to hear first hand  from a number of prominent Russian industry experts about the strategies aspirations and challenges faced by Russian oil and gas companies,  so as to better understand their point of view.

The seminar has been organised around a series of short contributions from the speakers designed to bring out a range of  different  issues  and encourage debate. This will be interspersed with plenty of opportunities for questions, discussion and networking during the  course of the morning.

The Speakers

Mr Philip Vorobyov, Commercial Executive for JKX Oil & Gas

Philip is responsible for business development at JKX Oil & Gas. Prior to joining JKX, Philip worked for TNK-BP Gas & Power division where he performed a number of senior roles including head of strategy, business development and regulatory affairs. He was also Associate Director for Russian and Caspian Energy at Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA). Philip holds an MA from Harvard University and a BS from Georgetown University.

Mr Ruslan Nickolov, Independent Oil and Gas Expert, Moscow, Russia

Ruslan Nickolov has an extensive experience in Russian and international energy sector including audit and consulting of US oil & gas companies with PwC and Arthur D. Little in Houston and Boston. He moved to London to spent six years as an equity research analyst in the City. Since his return to Russia in 2003 he has worked as vice president for economics and strategic planning with TNK-BP and head of the GR function with Gazprom neft. Ruslan is a graduate of MGIMO (Moscow), and holds an MBA in finance from Rice University (Houston, Texas).

Mr Andrei Gaidamaka, Deputy Vice-President- Strategic development, LUKOIL, Russia

Andrei Gaidamaka joined LUKOIL in 2001, where he has been Deputy Vice President of Strategic Development and Investment Analysis since 2002. His responsibilities include analysis and evaluation of the company’s large investment projects, as well as the formulation of LUKOIL’s long term investment and business development strategy. Mr. Gaidamaka has taken an active role in improvement of corporate governance systems, in investment analysis, capital allocation and etc. He has an accounting and finance background from PWC LLP and was a top rated oil and gas analyst at Morgan Stanley for Eastern Europe with coverage of LUKOIL, Surgutneftegas, Gazprom, Rosneft, as well as MOL, PKN Ollen, Hellenic Petroleum.

Mr Vladimir Feygin, President, Institute of Energy and Finance, Moscow, Russia

Dr Feygin is Advisor to the President of Rosneft Petroleum Company as well as Co-Speaker from the Russian side of the EU-Russia Gas Advisory Council as well as Consultant of the Gazprombank Board (since 2002). His area of expertise include: regulation and development of the gas markets and other energy resources markets as well as system analysis of the major gas supplying networks modelling in order to develop of effective scenarios of the Unified Gas Supply System.  Vladimir holds PhD in Physics and Mathematics. He possesses a broad knowledge of EU Energy Dialogue issues, UNDP Framework Convention on Climate Changes, Kyoto Protocol for AG flaring issues.

Mr Dmitrii Ivanov, Director, Department of Large Projects, Gazpromneft, Russia

Since 2004 Dmitrii holds a number of the key positions in the companies such as Gazstroiexport, Sibur-Holding , Gazpormneft, Moscow Oil and Gas Company. He holds MBA from Higher School of Economics as well as degree from Admiral Makarov State Maritime Academy, St Petersburg.

 Venue

The Jubilee Room  is situated in the House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA.  Guests should come to the  Cromwell Green  (Visitor)  Entrance , (see   G 7  on the Visitors map  ) Guests do not need to bring any specific ID but  please allow at least 20  minutes to clear Security.  Once in Westminster Hall, the entrance to the Jubilee Room is immediately to at the top of the staircase to the right .
