BIEE’s new president elect, Prof. Charles Hendry MP will be a keynote speaker at a BIEE meeting on October 16th . His speech will focus on the joint challenges of how we secure the levels of new investment in the UK to ensure our long-term energy security, especially given the increased attention on energy prices and the continuing debate about the need to decarbonise.
Prof. Charles Hendry MP has been Conservative Member of Parliament for Wealden since 2001 and was Minister of State for Energy from May 2010 until September 2012. He was previously the Conservative Party’s spokesman on energy issues, holding the portfolio longer than any previous Minister.
