The Institute of Energy and Climate Research – Systems Analysis and Technology Evaluation (IEK-STE) researches the long-term characteristics of socio-technical energy systems in the context of transformation and innovation. In an interdisciplinary team, approaches are developed to investigate socio-economic aspects of technological development and their interactions with the environment, economy, and society. In addition to contributing to science, research outcomes help to advise industry, policy makers and society.
