The BIEE is delighted to be holding its next Research Conference at Worcester College in Oxford, Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 September 2025.
Delegates will experience a full two-day programme with high profile guest speaker plenary sessions, parallel sessions featuring the latest research, policy and industry analysis, as well as our informal debate and poster sessions. In addition, there will be special sessions on diversity and skills and a presentation showcase for students and young energy professionals.
BIEE conferences are renowned for the quality of speakers they attract, for their open, productive discussion and debate and for the diverse range of participants from energy industry, finance, academia and government, as well as significant number of postgraduate students. It is the interactions between participants from across these groups that makes the conference so special.

Venue
With 15 heritage listed buildings and 26 acres of gardens and grounds, Worcester offers everything you could want from a beautiful venue. The venue is equidistant from the train station and historic city centre so, if you do want to explore further, you’re in the ideal location. A 10-minute walk will take you not just to the architectural jewels of the University but to direct trains to London and beyond. Near the venue you’ll find the Ashmolean Museum, which houses 5,000 years of human history, and the vibrant neighbourhood of Jericho, home to independent shops, bars, restaurants and Oxford University Press.
